About Us


       The founder of Carousel Project is Kaylene Scholl Henderson.  A

native of Lancaster County Pennsylvania, Kaylene had been a therapeutic

foster parent for over 20 years as a single parent. In 2006- 2007 Kaylene

operated a therapeutic respit home for children diagnosed with Early

Childhood Trauma (RAD).  In addition to her many foster and respite

children, Kaylene has two adopted daughters and numerous grandchildren.  

       Kaylene married her husband Chris Henderson from Ellijay Georgia in

2007.  Chris & Kaylene had make their home in the Appalachia Mountain

Foothills of North Georgia.  

       When Kaylene is not working on one of her books or major projects to

enhance services for families or trainings for national conferences, you will

find her working in her gardens.

       In addition to 30 years experience in the Human Service and Mental

Health Fields, Kaylene attended Rosedale Bible Institute in 1983 and

again in 1992 focusing  in Child Development, Counseling and

Psychology.  Kaylene graduated Cum Laude from Kaplan University with

a Bachelors in Human Service with the emphasis in Child and Family as

well as Administration. In 2015, Kaylene graduated from Liberty University

with a Masters in Human Services with an emphasis on crisis, trauma and

disaster counseling. Kaylene is Board Certified through the American

Association of Christian Counselors as a Christian Life Coach.

She continues to seek out avenues to be educated in human service

venues.  She has had extensive experience

surrounding early childhood trauma disorders as well as non-

profit consultation and administrative training to those with a vision for para-

church ministries.

      Kaylene is a Life Coach, conference presenter, program consultant

and author.

       Kaylene serves her community with involvment in CERT,  (community

emergency response team) and is certified as a psychological first aid responder.
